The first winner in category CITIES is the city of RIJEKA / assambled of juniors, seniors and veterans.
Students from the University of J.J.Strossmayer in Osijek had the fastest time 1:44:44. University of Zagreb, in category FEMALE STUDENTS, performed with three crews, and the fastest was HRVATSKI STUDIJI crew. Veterans of IKTUS from Osijek had the fastest veteran time. For the time being, the only crew of female veteran combined IKT – MLA – VUK improved their time by 11 minutes and is eagerly waiting for competition in its category. Another former olympian Mr. Nikša Mardešić participated, in MIX eight. Our congratulations on their first performance on our Marathon to the crew of eight from the city of Izola /SLO/.
Followed by ideal weather condition, female and male rowers paddled enjoing the fall ambient on Danube.
At the finish, the host treated marathon contestants with wine, pastry and grapes.
The organizer transported the audience and guests from Vukovar to Ilok by boat, so they could fully experience the event ROWING MARATHON.
5th ROWING MARATHON VUKOVAR ILOK will be paddled on 27th of September 2008.
